The Predictive Maintenance Program Manager will provides technical expertise to customers (Calpine plants and service providers) for the following PdM technologies: Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Motor Circuit Testing (off and on-line), Lube Oil Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Optical Gas Imaging, Corona Imaging, Motion Amplification Video.

This position is responsible for the implementation Calpine’s Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Program. The PdM Program Manager provide day to day management of the fleet’s contract PdM service providers. They evaluate the test results and provide recommendations to Calpine Management and Calpine Engineering of critical items that are being monitored.

The Program Manager coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of the program. Responsibilities also include aiding in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.

The Program Manager provides consistent implementation of the PdM Program throughout Calpine’s Fleet, improving operational reliability and efficiency. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules develops solutions to program problems and ensures programs are consistently delivered and maintained.

Manages the fleet’s data base of historical PdM test results. Provides technical guidance to other departments within Calpine. Provide technical leadership to both internal and external organizations and entities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accomplishes work through others. Manages single function or portion of a department with an operational focus.
• Establishes goals, objectives and guidelines covering all phases of plant operations.
• Manages employees performing related duties including full human resources, cost and budgetary accountabilities.
• Establishes and enforces procedures and controls within the plant to attain projected goals and objectives.
• Decisions typically related to resources, project approach, and tactical operations.
• Results have significant impact on costs and the achievement of function objectives or project-based goals.
• Makes decisions for large-scale projects, a closely related set of projects and initiatives involving own and possibly related functional areas.
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines tactical approach, resources, schedules and goals.
• Works within general guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems for a function.
• Manages a single function or portion of a department. Regularly manages large-scale projects/activities or a very closely related set of projects/activities.
• Responsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for support and professional levels.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training.
• Previous work leadership or senior level contributor experience.
• Experience, certifications, and/or formal training in PdM Technologies including Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Motor Circuit Testing (off and on-line), Lube Oil Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Optical Gas Imaging, Corona Imaging, Motion Amplification Video.
• In-depth experience across knowledge areas and multiple functions including project management; typically requires 10+ years in area of specialization
