“Job Summary: (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned):

Calpine Energy Solutions has partnered with Community Choice Aggregators (CCA) in California to provide communities with a choice to purchase cleaner energy at competitive rates. CCAs procure renewable sources of electricity for their customers and utilize the power lines, owned by the local utility, to distribute this renewable energy. Billing Analysts on the Data Team are responsible for validating usage data and maintaining billing system attributes to ensure prompt and accurate invoicing. Billing Analysts are responsible for accurate submissions of CCA client’s load to the CAISO. Billing Analysts are key components of this rapidly growing program; making themselves an essential part of Calpine Energy Solutions expanding services.

Job Responsibilities:

Usage Validation, Attribute Maintenance, and Reporting (60%)

• Review usage data files and customer attributes daily to ensure accurate parameters for billing to minimize errors and delays, and maximize accuracy of meter data
• Process usage files to initiate the billing process, research and reconcile usage discrepancies
• Complete daily CAISO load submissions, ensure all deadlines are successfully achieved
• Collaborate daily with Billing Analysts, Account Specialists, Management, and internal departments to promptly respond to requests and resolve issues
• Provide data and analysis for reporting as needed

Reconciliations and Special Projects (30%)

• Identify risks, research root cause, communicate to management, provide suggestions for resolution, complete reconciliations as needed
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve exceptions, anomalies, and errors
• Correspond and follow-up daily with local utility regarding usage and attribute inquiries, provide updates to management and CCA clients for customer service items as needed, ensure timeliness and accuracy to meet high customer service expectations
• Complete monthly internal CCA Team audits to ensure an efficient and accurate billing system
• Critique and optimize processes on an ongoing basis, find ways to improve accuracy and efficiency in data processing, communication, and billing

Organizational Understanding (5%)

• Be proficient in understanding and articulating the nuances of the various CCA Programs and Electric markets
• Provide constructive feedback regarding current processes
• Practice high ethical standards; be accountable for such things as time, communication, statistics, organizational understanding and business knowledge

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and maintain flexibility to adapt well to change
• Maintain effective working relationships with other organizations in the company, the Clients, and Utilities Gain an understanding of how the tasks at hand have a broader impact to the business
• Demonstrate ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions
• Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and gather conceptual ideas and turn into functional requirements”

• Bilingual is a plus but not required

Computer/Technical Skills:
• Data Entry Skills
• Intermediate to Advance Level Excel Skills
• Proficient in organizing Outlook settings
• Proficient with keyboard shortcuts Ability to learn and become proficient with Nexant Revenue Manager
• Ability to learn and become proficient with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Qualifications:

• Education Level – Bachelor’s Degree
• Work Experience – 2 years
• Available to Travel (as needed)”
