Ovintiv is looking for a Commercial Services Representative to join the US Commercial Midstream Team. This position will be responsible for providing support for the commercial management of third-party midstream relationships and planning for Anadarko and Rockies Operating Area properties.

Ovintiv’s US Midstream Team is responsible for managing all components of the oil and gas commercial midstream business arrangements between Ovintiv and our midstream service providers. The Commercial Services Representative will liaise with a wide number of people both internally and externally to make a meaningful contribution to the successful development of the Anadarko and Rockies Operating Areas.

This position will report to the Anadarko and Rockies Midstream Manager. Location is in The Woodlands, TX or Denver, CO.


Manage the implementation and ongoing execution of existing and new midstream contracts to ensure contractual terms are being met/optimized.Liaise with Ovintiv stakeholders including, operations, facilities, development, accounting/finance, land, tax and legal to ensure midstream contract terms or issues are properly communicated, budget, outlooked, executed/resolved, and settled properly.Liaise with external stakeholders including our development partners and midstream service providers to ensure contractual terms are adhered to and appropriate services are being provided, including timely well connects and system capacity upgrades.Responsible for developing, running and analyzing results of various economic models used for project evaluations, asset utilization/optimization and more, including identifying associated risks.Provide analytical and commercial support as necessary to evaluate new business opportunities, divestitures, acquisitions, land swaps and related service costs and fees.Develop and nurture positive and mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external customers or third-party midstream service providers.Work closely with other commercial services representatives and managers to provide business and technical advice in the planning and development midstream projects, requests for proposals from third-party service providers and participate in contract negotiations as required.


Bachelor’s degree in engineering, law or finance preferred, however other disciplines will be considered in combination with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Production/Facilities Engineering or Midstream.Familiarity with technical/commercial knowledge of midstream functions preferred.Proficient with economic modeling and advanced spreadsheet expertise.Possess an understanding of capital and operating cost metrics for the midstream industry.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal and presentation.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to changing priorities.Ability to identify issues, investigate causes and recommend solutions.Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Proactive and independent with the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environment.Effective interpersonal skills and ability to develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Capacity to formulate creative solutions to problems and challenge the status quo.Capable of utilizing data to link concepts and provide insightful recommendations.Strong financial and problem-solving skills.Some travel to field operations or other corporate locations may be required.Must be legally eligible to work in United States.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv’s reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $115,000- $145,000 USD

Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
