Ovintiv’s IT Shared Services is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to add to their team. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone at the initial stage of their career to join us while we are making a digital shift. This position can be based in Calgary, Denver, or The Woodlands.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders across Ovintiv to design and develop solutions to enable data-driven decision making.Contribute to building and strengthening our digital platforms.Understand Ovintiv’s strategy and business goals and gather specific project requirements.Prioritize individual and team efforts on the highest value items to achieve business outcomes and high-performance results.Advocate for improving data quality and availability.Establish relationships with people across multiple disciplines and locations in technical teams and in business teams.Be creative, curious, and innovative with a drive to always be learning and improving.

Qualifications

Two or more years of related work experience.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or similar discipline preferred.Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate.Data modeling and database design skills including star schema ability.Familiarity with multiple components of Microsoft Azure such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Logic Apps & Synapse Analytics.Adept at programming/scripting languages such as Python, R/Shiny, C#, JavaScript & SQL.Exposure to predictive analytics and machine learning is a benefit.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Positive attitude, self-motivated, solid analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or the USA.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv’s reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000 – $130,000 USD / $75,000 – $120,000 CAD

Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
