Engineers at Ovintiv work side-by-side with some of the industry’s best experts on some of the industry’s best assets Our engineers are part of multi-discipline teams that include geologists, geophysicists, land negotiators, regulatory professionals, operations professionals and others with the varied expertise needed to achieve our strategic plans, providing tremendous opportunity to learn the full scope of oil and gas resource plays.
Our engineers cycle through the following disciplines:
Reservoir: providing technical and economic analysis to help establish a development strategy for our resource plays to include well planning, spacing, recovery, etc.
Drilling: designing and implementing drilling and work-over programs to develop our producing properties at a maximum economic rate
Completions: overseeing the design and execution of completions for wells drilled including well planning, casing design, material and equipment selection, evaluation, stimulation design, quality assurance and post-job evaluation. Production: evaluating well performance and developing new techniques and approaches to enhance production rates and reduce operating costsFacilities: designing and maintaining gathering and processing facilities including pipelines, compressor stations and gas processing and treating facilities to ensure that gas flows from the wellhead to the sale point.
New Grad Program
Our program is designed to provide New Grads high-quality exposure to various facets of engineering early on in their career through job rotations, networking & collaboration and training. This program helps ensure New Grads establish a solid foundation and path to success by developing a broad range of skills, knowledge, capabilities, confidence and expertise to fully understand the resource play strategy, execute with excellence and grow into future technical leaders.
All of our New Grads begin their careers with Ovintiv at field location where they will spend 12 months learning all aspects of Field Operations. We are currently recruiting for opportunities in our Field Operations. After that time, our New Grads will rotate into a new role. After graduation from the New Grad program (approximately 3 years), engineers can expect to be located out of our Denver, CO or The Woodlands, TX office.
Must graduate in good standing with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum) by May 2022. Ability to start in role by June 2022Ability to work at a Field location (Midland, TX or Okarche, OK) on a shift schedule for the first 12 months of employment.Must have had previous experience in Oil & Gas
