Ovintiv’s Internal Audit & Risk team is currently seeking a senior insurance analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will provide insurance risk support to the internal organization and play a key role in implementing the best insurance risk management strategies for the company. The role can be based in Calgary, Denver, or the Woodlands.
The position will report to the Director, Risk and will appeal to an individual interested in exposure to all aspects of insurance risk management. The successful candidate will be the insurance risk expert for the organization and provide guidance on all aspects including risk assessment, insurance placement and insurance programs.
Support, consult and provide effective insurance risk advice throughout Ovintiv to ensure that risks are properly assessed and managed including detailed reviews of contracts, insurance policies and liability/indemnity regimes.Assist with the development, placement, and maintenance of the most cost effective and appropriate risk transfer strategies for Ovintiv.Ongoing assessment of appropriate risk tolerance levels for Ovintiv and review of potential risk transfer strategies and insurance options not currently used by the business.Administer Ovintiv’s corporate insurance programs which will involve allocating premiums, coordinating certificates of insurance, information gathering and working with other departments as necessary.Work extensively with brokers, adjusters, and internal staff on all claims issues.Manage and oversee Ovintiv’s surety bond program.Develop trust, confidence, and a reputation throughout the company that all insurance risk issues are being appropriately managed.
Five or more years of related work experience.Bachelor’s degree in Business or Risk Management.Additional risk management or insurance designation would be an asset.Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.Positive attitude, self-motivated, solid analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.Travel to Ovintiv’s offices/field sites may be required.Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or the USA.
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv’s reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000 – $150,000 CAD / $100,000 – $135,000 USD
Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
