What’s the role
The Shell UK Mobility business has a company owned presence of 525 service stations. As a Non Fuel Retail (NFR) business, CR UK sources goods and services across a broad spectrum of FMCG categories. It works to a business model in which Shell does not take stock ownership but works with contracted organisations who offer an integrated service. This will include the procurement and distribution of goods and services out to Shell UK company owned service stations.
CR UK has a core offer of FMCG products and services complemented with a food-for-now proposition (JOdbS & Costa Express) as showcased on Shell Select stations. This is enhanced with a food-for-later and top-up convenience offer developed in close collaboration with alliance partners (Waitrose & Budgens). To drive long term sustainable growth, the business is focused on developing an ever-evolving offer that satisfies the needs of a diverse customer base. Each service station has to provide customers with an optimal mobility offer and must cater to customers with different retail shopping missions.
Critical to the health of a CR business is a continuous programme of improvement. The NFR 50:50 growth aspirations of the broader Shell organisation cannot be maximised without a constant pursuit of excellence in CR execution. The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring such excellence through a provision of stringent supply chain partner performance tracking and business modelling, whilst delivering best-in-class supply chain operational support. This will allow the broader CR Team to optimise overall commercial revenue performance.

All of the above has meant that CR UK continues to drive record performance year after year, delivering growth ahead of the market. This is a unique opportunity to join the high performing CR Team in a role that has very distinct areas of responsibility.
The backbone of a successful UK CR business is underpinned with best-in-class execution and continuous improvement. It is pivotal to remaining competitive in the retail environment. The purpose of this role will be to work with different stakeholders to support in driving performance and profit optimisation for the evolving CR UK offer. The role will include the functional day-to-day management of the commercial contracts that CR has in place with our service providers. It will support all the operational functions needed within CR Supply Chain (including but not limited to tracking, auditing and improving on contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) with our service providers). The position holder will be required to liaise with or represent various CR functions, in particular Category Management and CR Optimisation, whilst working with Operations and Sales to aid delivery of the CR UK Business Targets.
As a Supply Chain Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for a program of continuous improvement through the end-to-end management of Supply Chain Partners to ensure profitable growth, now and in the future. No day is likely to look the same as he/she stewards partner performance, works to optimise product availabilities and makes continuous improvements. Due to the wide scope of work, the position holder must have the necessary skillsets and experience needed to manage the contractual obligations with our service partners having an excellent understanding of Supply Chain processes and commercial opportunity enablers. The role will need to form clear and robust ways of working with the service partner teams.
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
KPI and Delivery-On-Time Tracking; monitoring service provider performance to optimise revenue and profit generation
Management of financial reports; overseeing service providers financial reporting, document control and onward distribution
YOY performance reporting; measuring sales and volume metrics against prior year performance
Format volume tracker; ensuring optimum delivery is maximised
Reducing leakage; ensuring that Shell revenue is optimised, and the use of illicit service providers is minimised at our service stations
Running operational meetings on a weekly and monthly basis; performing stewardship tasks and monitoring service partner performance against SLAs
Resolution of Retailer, Service Station and/or Delivery issues; acting as point person for all issues pertaining to the provision of the supply chain or CR products and services
Delivering route optimisation programmes; ensuring that efficiencies are unlocked across the Shell company owned network of service stations
Responsible for on time generation of service provider purchase orders; ensuring supply chain income is raised in line with the forecasted month to month CR T&R budget
Hosting Quarterly Business Reviews; measuring service providers against their contractual obligations and capturing future actions in a formal RAIL
Establish a multi-functional relationship across different levels of the UK business; ensuring continuous improvement of the UK CR proposition and excellent execution throughout the business
To deliver all of the above, demonstrate a clear understanding of retail fundamentals such as assortment, merchandising, promotions and operational processes
What we need from you
Shell continues to strive to build a professional retail organisation. Direct experience or a clear understanding of the UK convenience retail business will be a clear advantage in any application.
