The VP OF DEALER DEVELOPMENT Position            

Sunnova Energy is currently searching for a Vice President of Dealer Development to be responsible for developing and executing on the company’s strategic plan for dealer recruitment, training and growth by focusing on identifying entrepreneurs and closely related businesses to be solar dealers for Sunnova.  The VP of Dealer Development will lead the team to identify potential dealers, train them and manage them until they are established and can perform as a full-fledged Sunnova dealer.  This role will also lead the team responsible for dealer training and internal Sunnova training focused on channel operations.  The VP will collaborate closely with both the VP of Dealer Sales and Human Resources.  The VP of Dealer Development will have the primary goal of driving overall net new business through these new dealer relationships. This program will be known internally as Sunnova University and is focused on growing Sunnova’s dealer base and sales within the renewable energy market. 

            

VP OF DEALER DEVELOPMENT Responsibilities

  • Develops the strategy and execution plan for Sunnova University.
  • Leads the strategy and execution on recruiting and onboarding of Sunnova University candidates.
  • Leads the development of training for all dealers which includes sales reps, operations and how to transact with Sunnova.
  • Leads the development of internal training for all account managers, fulfilment and technical operations within Sunnova.
  • Evaluates sales and installation performance, while ensuring execution, review and tracking of the work in progress (WIP) for Sunnova University dealers.
  • Collaborates with multifunctional teams, i.e., Business Development, Customer Care, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and Supply Chain, to develop an optimized Sunnova University plan across the business.
  • Guides others in understanding and acting upon business intelligence and industry insights.
  • Works to gain strategic alignment with all internal and external stakeholders and fosters the development of relationships in multiple levels of the organization.
  • Is the primary advocate and ambassador for the Sunnova University across all functions.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, manages talent strategy and capability within the organization; improves bench strength and performance across the organization. 

 

 Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree is in Business or Supply Chain required
  • Minimum years of experience required: 15 or more years of related sales, dealer management or business development experience
  • Experience in managing training organizations
  • Experience in managing dealer relationships

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Business Administration

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • An understanding of Salesforce or other database tools
  • Highly positive energy, self-motivated and can-do personality
  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail and organization
  • An understanding of Salesforce or other database tools
  • Must possess ability to manipulate large reports and data files
  • Must have existing strong business development skills and be comfortable fostering dealer relationships.
  • Solid business planning skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and professional presentation skills.
  • Experience building new dealer opportunities and developing industry relationships to drive new business and markets.
  • Ability to be successful in an ambiguous environment inclusive of continuous improvements and stretch targets.
  • Must have high level skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

 

 

Working conditions:

  • Open office environment
  • Must be able to travel 60% of the time.
