The Texas Operations team is seeking a Water Management Operator to work on the Permian Water Resources Team and contribute to one of Ovintiv’s core liquid rich growth properties. This position will work closely with the Texas Operations Production Operations, Field Construction, Land, EH&S and Development teams to ensure best in class coordination and support.

We are seeking a candidate who works well in a team environment and independently in the field, has the ability to take on multiple tasks and has field experience of water handling, production, or similar field asset experience. The individual will be a key member of the operations team and will be expected to work with a high degree of focus on safety and production. The ability to work effectively with other professionals with varying levels of experience and from different backgrounds is an essential requirement to be successful in this role. 

This position is located in Midland, TX and reports to the Water Management Coordinator and Lead Water Management Operator.

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and oversee water recycling facilities.Assist and coordinate all water transfer activities for construction, drilling, completions, flowback activities.Responsible for daily communication of field operations, including creating and maintaining daily reports.Collaborate with Ovintiv and service provider teams/disciplines on worksite.Point of contact for field operations, coordination and completions teams.Oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), maintenance and record-keepingOperate Encana properties to ensure all regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance issues and goals are met for their specific area.Oversee and direct work of service providers, ensuring compliance with Ovintiv EH&S requirements and execution standards (SOP).Work with automation systems and Production Operations team.Seek ways to improve safety performance and reduce operating expenses.Operate and maintain all types of water movement equipment, pump valves, pipelines — including maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, must take a hands-on approach in problem solving.Monitor chemical usage at water facilities, injection wells and pipelines as needed.Perform various other field related activities as required.Effectively communicate and manage relationships with landowners.Makes routine decisions and recommendations within established guidelines and procedures.Strong focus on driving safety and journey management.

Qualifications

Five or more years of experience operating a produced/recycled water system or two to four years oil and gas operator experience.High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience in oil and gas industry preferred.Familiarity with operation and maintenance of electrically driven water pumps and pipeline operations.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with SCADA and Cygnet preferred.Safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol screening.Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds, between 50-100 pounds occasionally.Legally eligible to work in the United States.
